First, make sure you complete all your sidequests. If you've been following the "before you go" sections at the end of each chapter, this shouldn't be a problem.
This isn't strictly required, but doing this will make it MUCH MUCH easier to complete a forced battle later in this chapter. Make sure you obtain the following ingredients.
If you have excess sepith and were not able to procure the ingredients above, I suggest you upgrade Estelle's orbment device and buying the following quartz:
Talk to Luis to get Gambler Jack #8.
Talk to Calcus to get Gambler Jack #9.
DO NOT ENTER THE INN YET! Find the old man Kuwaro and talk to him. Go back to South Bose and talk to Kuwaro's wife Saiar. She will then give you the Lake King II (湖泊大帝II世) fishing rod.
Head back to Lake Valeria. If you want, you can detour to the [TODO] tower for some exploration.
Now that everything is done, head back to Lake Valeria. Enter the inn to continue the story.
As a note to the reader, the plot of the game accelerates very quickly starting from this chapter. We're rapidly approaching the climax of the story and conclusion of the game.
Do note that once you enter the Lake Valeria Inn, you pass a point of no return. Basically, the story progression will take you through two sets of maps with no town to resupply in. So stock up now at Bose while you still can.

When it's sunset and you have control of Estelle again, head out and go to the fishing pier at the west side. [TODO: estelle memory of joshua, talk to kevin]. Then, a small boat starts drifting towards them ... inside, it's Kurz!?
Kurz tells Estelle that his team failed to break in to the Ouroboros research facility and that everyone else was captured. Kurz reveals the location of the research facility to the team. It's time for Estelle to come to the rescue.
One of the first things you will notice about the facility is that there are a lot of doors with colour-coded locks. You will need keycards with the corresponding colour to open the doors. But in order to get the keycards, Estelle has to defeat the captured and brainwashed Bracers.

After defeating Anelace, she tells Estelle that she saw Joshua in the research facility and that Estelle might be able to find him on roof. Estelle and team arrive to the roof to find Joshua ... or three robotic clones of him.

After defeating the robot Joshuas, Weissman shows up and releases sleeping gas at the whole team and captures Estelle.
This is mainly plot.
Once Estelle reaches the deck, she will soon encounter a forced battle with bracer points at stake. You should equip her with accessories that can prevent "loss of control" status effects like Faint.
Also, depending also on how diligently you followed this walkthrough, you may also want to adjust Estelle's quartz (especially if you didn't or weren't able to cook all those Fainting Meatballs (昏厥肉丸子)) so she can cast some higher level spells. The section below details three different strategies that worked for me.
Once all the adjustments are complete, save the game. Estelle will encounter Gilbert and a team of four Enhanced Soldiers (強化獵兵) halfway across crossing the deck.
Caution Do note that Estelle needs to make every move count, as this battle has a time limit. If Estelle is still alive and has not yet defeated all the enemies after TODO turns, the battle is considered a draw and she will get reduced bracer points.
Also, note that this is one of the few times where Estelle can lose the battle without triggering a Game Over, but she won't get the bonus bracer points by losing.
Played conventionally, this is perhaps one of the most difficult battles in the game (up to this point). Estelle is fighting alone, outnumbered 5 to 1, and faces a time limit. Unless you grinded her to something ridiculous like level 70+, it's near impossible to win this battle "normally". So we should resort to some cheap tactics.
By the way, in the interests of full disclosure, I didn't come up with these tactics. They're translated from other readers' comments on a Chinese walkthrough I used when playing this game. Here are my thoughts on each tactic:
This is my preferred tactic and makes this battle really easymode. If you followed the walkthrough diligently, you should have a small arsenal of Fainting Meatballs (昏厥肉丸子). This is probably one of the best foods to use because:
Basically, all you do is throw meatballs at everyone. Whenever it is Estelle's turn, throw a meatball at the closest non-disabled enemy. Two or three meatballs should be able to take out anybody.
This is my preferred backup tactic if you didn't make enough Fainting Meatballs (昏厥肉丸子). Before the battle, equip Estelle with enough quartz to be able to cast Death Roar" (死亡咆哮). I personally equipped Estelle with:
Since Death Roar" (死亡咆哮)'s range is basically the entire battlefield, all Estelle has to do it spam this over and over again.
This is a kind of troll tactic that is viable, but isn't as quick as the other two above. Before the battle, equip Estelle with enough quartz to be able to cast Silver Thorn (銀色荊棘). Theoretically, all you need is EP4, EP4 Cut (省EP4), and Hit4" (命中4) in the same line. I equipped Estelle with:
The downside of this tactic is that the range of Silver Thorn (銀色荊棘) is only a large circle and there is some casting time involved, so you need to choose the target wisely
Keep casting Silver Thorn (銀色荊棘) and sit back and watch the lulz.
Even after defeating Gilbert, he and his Enhanced Soldiers are able to stand back up to fight again. Right when Estelle is in a pinch, another enhanced soldier comes to rescue her -- it's Joshua!
Joshua and Estelle head towards the shuttle bay to escape with a prepared shuttle. But right at the end, they are greeted by Campenella
